School Project - Biddenham Upper School, UK
We had a really fun day with our tutor. Freely started off by telling us all about China and explaining why Mandarin is a good language to learn young. We learnt lots about Beijing and the Olympics. We learnt some words in Mandarin that we can use at the time of the games. We can ask our parents to watch the games to practise our Mandarin Chinese. We learnt to say hello and greetings like that and we learnt how to write some calligraphy using proper Chinese ink and brushes.
At the end of the day, Mr Jiang Li, a professional Chinese musician brought in lots of traditional Chinese instruments. It was fun learning to play such weird instruments that made different sounds from instruments we already know. Some of them were very difficult to get the hang of. See our photos of us trying to play nice sounds. To hear all about our day, please listen to the sound files below.
